Parenting is HARD. It can feel frustrating and very isolating, especially during a pandemic. Parents need a way to connect with other parents, to realize they are not alone in the experiences they are having, to find the opportunity to laugh at the inherent humor in difficult moments, and to remind themselves that this is all just a part of the wonderful, crazy adventure called parenting.

Crazy Adventure Arts is a greeting card and gift company featuring original works of art by founder Barbara McQuillan inspired by real parenting events that highlight the humor which may not have been apparent in the moment, but shine hilariously in retrospect. By embedding these moments on greeting cards and gifts, life events become an opportunity to communicate and connect with other parents. We can share some laughter, validate difficult moments, and strengthen ties with our community.

When my daughter was born in 2019, I found myself trapped at home. I was literally pinned beneath 8lbs of adorable, napping bliss, which could wake at any moment. After many sleepless nights and exhausting days, I realized parenting is HARD! It is the most amazing, exhausting, fulfilling, frustrating, awe-inspiring, hair-graying, heartwarming experience in existence.

I decided juggling my full time job and raising a 3 year old was just too much. I wanted to shift my focus, spend more time with my family, and concentrate on being the best mom that I can. To do that, I needed to find a parenting community and a way to connect with other parents, to realize I was not alone in the experiences I was having, to find the inherent humor in difficult moments, and to remind myself that all this is just a part of the wonderful, crazy adventure called parenting.

In 2022, I launched Crazy Adventure Arts so I could share my crazy adventure with other parents who may need a laugh, a moment to validate their own experiences, and a chance to connect with our community of parents.
